The Ardee Turfman Festival committee is getting ready to organise yet another great Ardee Turfman Festival which will take place over the August bank holiday weekend. The festival now in its fifth year has gone from strength to strength and the festival committee is now looking for more people with innovative ideas to help with the upcoming festival.

Hundreds attend funeral of George Moore

HUNDREDS paid their respects to Dundalk entrepreneur and philanthropist George Moore whose funeral took place at St Patrick’s Cathedral Dundalk last Thursday. The successful businessman died in Virginia in the US at the age of 62. The funeral Mass was celebrated by Fr Martin Hughes. Fr Hughes visited the late Mr Moore in the US every year and he told mourners that George was ‘larger than life’ and dedicated to his family.
